I'm curious if they'll ever post a time for the SSC Ultimate Aero. I'd be curious how it compares on the Ring.

I get so frustrated when reading the comments on those videos. People go on and on and on about how American cars suck and that they handle for **** compared to anything European. The data and track times just don't seem to prove anything to them. Some of those guys were saying that the comparison to a GTR is unfair b/c the GTR is the "base model" and the ZR1 is the top level Vette. There's a video of me losing a quick friendly race (in my CTS-V) to a friend's NSX. The NSX was supercharged and had headers and exhaust. My CTS-V at the time only had an exhaust and I had only been driving it for about a month (my first manual). I stated the "facts" on the video and a whole bunch of Acura fanboys started calling my car a piece of slow crap and that I wouldn't have had a chance even modded because the NSX is unbeatable. Pisses me off when people are so close minded.

The thing about the GT-R that the US consumers haven't realized yet is that it is really just a street legal race car. What that means is that it will need constant maintenance.

A friend of mine who is a service tech says he was looking over the service recommendations and that the fluid change interval for oil and transmission fluid is 1,800 miles. The tranny takes 11qts of special fluid(basically a race fluid). Who wants to pay that bill every two months? I expect there will be a lot of owners that don't follow the recommended service and end up with serious issues down the road.

SWEET! Me and my friend who is a Nissan fanboy (use to be into f-bodies, but he must have hit his head) got into an argument about these two cars. He actually said the Vette wasn't worth it. I of course had to tell him about this little piece of info... lol

My friend Brett works for SSC here in Richland, I've ridden in the Ultimate Aero twice. Just cruising, no 200+ runs. But it doesn't have power steering and has the same length problem as the Saleen S7 and Koenigsegg CCR/CCX. The car does handle well, but barely beat the Enzo on the slalom. The SSC relies on brute force to get things done, it's a great car in design, but it'll never be a Lotus or Mclaren.
