Default Where to fish in Washington????

OK, I am at my wits end trying to catch fish in Washington. I primarily fish lakes and rivers since I dont have a boat for hitting the puget sound.

Over the past month I have fished Lake WA, Lake Samammish, Easton Lake, Cle Elum Lake, Cle Elum Rver and Lake Kachess (the last 4 this weekend) and at every single one I come home empty handed. I sewar I have thrown everything in my tackle box at them and nothing. I swear all the lakes and rivers here are DEAD an incapable of supporting fish life. I take that back, I have caught perch in Lake Wa and bass in both Lake WA and Lake Samammish but both times were from a boat.

I hear the skykomsh is good for steelhead, but that happens, what, once a year? Is there anyplace here that you can go and actually catch some trout? Lake or river, I dont care, I just wantto catch some fish!!!!

I am about ready to sell all my fishing gear because there is obviously no signs of life in the fresh water around here.

The first site covers lakes and the second one covers everything.

Man i went out last week and did good. What are you using for bait, and what are you fishing for??? I have plans of going fishin again here in the next day or so. Also you don't need a boat to fish Pudget sound. Alot of people are catching pinks, and black mouths here on the island.

I mainly stick to lake and river fishing. And to add to that, I am always fishing from the shore or a dock. I have noticed that to do well on the lakes around here you really need a boat.

Dont do much in the saltwater. I like to stick to bass and trout.

Well I don't ever get skunked, and I fish from the bank, or dock..

Trout around here like the Powerballs. They are made by Powerbait. Green, yellow, pink, Chartruse<<<sp. And even the doh works farely well. For browns, it is to warm out. unless you are fishing really deep water, and then they like night crawlers. Fly fishing is pretty good up here too. I don't do it. Cause I don't like too.

If you ever want a fishing partner let me know, I am always up for fishing, if time allows it.

Also, how are you settin up your line. That can have alot to do with it.

For bass, Berkly Power worms are the ****. You just need to learn how to hook them right, and jig alittle, and I catch bass all the time.

Pumpkin seed, Watermelon, are my favorites to use, The 4 inch ones, not the 6 or 7 inch long ones.

I generally use rooster tails, mepps and rapalas. Over in Idaho I could kill anything in the water with a rooster tail all day day long. Even in the rivers they worked great.

Over here is a totally different animal for me. I will have to try and give the berkley works a shot and see how they do.

What lakes/rivers are you hitting?

I fish lakes that are pretty local to me. As in the Island county reagion. When I lived in Kitsap county I fished all over there too. When you go to a sporting goods store, talk to some of the people there in the fishing department, they always know were the in spots are. Due to high traffic coming in for bait.

As far as Rooster tails, and Rapala's go. Those are really only good if you have a boat to troll with. Fishing from the bank, those are useless. In Az, I had awesome luck with those types of bait.

Right now the fishing has gone down, cause of the heat, and they stocked all the lakes this last Spring, so by now they have been hit pretty hard. Once the weather cools down some, and the water drops some more in temp, you won't have any problem catching fish.

I have been getting pretty lucky in catching all the hold overs from last years stock.

Cranberry lake, Pass lake (is fly fishing only so I have not fished that one yet), Deer lake, Goss Lake, Erie Lake, and Lake Cambell ar the ones I am fishing the most right now.

If you want to try your luck with salmon, use the buzz bombs, and spray a little bit of WD-40 on them. But don't get caught..... lmao. I have not done this personally, but I have heard of a lot of people catching some nice fish that way.. ha ha.

WD-40? Is that like a super salmon attractant?

Lake wa can produce large and small mouth bass but onlyin a couple of areas. Smallies can be caught on lake samammish in one spot but for both lakes you have to have a boat.

Humptulips River.
Flows through my front yard.
If I was Native American, I'd get me a net and go into business.
