I live on the east side of Washington, and i was just wondering how bad the pass gets around late December, like the 18th through the 22nd to be specific. the Farmers Almanac i looked at wasn't much help and i figure some experiences would be better... I also heard we're going to have a mild winter this year, due to some sort of weather cycle. I've got a lady friend flying into Seattle on the 18th and I was just wondering how the conditions are.

Depends..I have been over many times in December to February and you never know....storms come up real fast.....watch the weather 1 day prior to leaving and on that day also...the DOT does a pretty good job of clearing it unless it is a crazy-storm.

I'd just say... plan on driving something other than your T/A.

Well if it was anything like last year.... Better bundle up, and get comfy cause you won't be going anywhere any time soon...

****, I went through there one night in early July and there was thunder, lightning, sleet, and small hail (not enough to dent my car, thankfully). In some places it got to 20 ft visibility, and I could feel my car wanting to hydroplane (cheap summer tires - Riken Raptors). Definitely check the weather report and don't take your TA if it has a chance of rain... lol.

On my way to Boise a few weeks ago, it was raining so hard that my Suburban spun the tires at speed while pulling the race car on the trailer!
