AutocrosS
Course Walks
The course will be open for walking from 8:45 am to 9:15-9:30 am. If I get it setup late, we'll start a little later. If needed, we will take a short (5-10 min) break to allow latecomers to walk the course.

Runs
All competition runs will be completed before the lunch break. After the lunch break, the course will be for fun runs only. Depending on which course I use and how many people show up, we will have between 4-6 runs in the competition. Please try to complete all of your runs in the AM, the afternoon session is really just for overflow & fun runs. The first 4-5 runs are the only ones we will count, all further ones are fun runs. Cars that have not finished the competition have priority, but if there is a break in the action, anyone that has completed their 4-5 runs can take fun runs.

Classes
Stock - Cars pretty close to stock. Cold air inductions, Airlids, Cat-Back exhausts, and Shock tower braces are the only mods allowed. Cars that came with upgraded spring and shocks (like the Level 2 suspension on the SS/Firehawk/WS6, or the 1LE package on the Z28) are still considered stock.

Prepared - Springs and shocks, sway bars, other bolt ons, etc., basically any suspension mod or non-poweradder that doesn't involve the internal engine. Subframe connectors are allowed, but not welded roll bars (bolt on roll bars are OK). Cars with nitrous installed can run in this class, but you can't use it on course. It would be too hard to control on a course with as many turns as we will have, so, trust me, it won't help.

Modified - Everything else. Heads/Cam, Blowers, welded roll bars/cages, coilover rears, IRS, jet engines, 6 wheels, etc.

Tech
All cars must pass the drag racing tech to run the autocross. In addition, there will be a mini-tech session before you make your first run, and your car will be marked. You will need to do this before your first run. It's mainly to make sure that you understand the rules, that you have to work the course, and that your wheels won't fall off. The car must be emptied of anything that isn't welded, bolted, glued, screwed, or nailed in place. That includes the floormats, as they could get lodged under the brake pedals. You don't need to clear out the center console or the glovebox, however, but the door pockets must be empty.

HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!!!! You must have or borrow a helmet to drive. M95/SA95 rated or better. If you don't have one, borrow one. You can borrow mine if needed, but there should be plenty of people willing to loan you a helmet.

Penalties, Handicaps
Hit cones will add 2 seconds per cone to your time.
For the overall standings, cars on race tires (including DOT-legal) will have a 1 second penalty added if the fastest time on course is 30 seconds or less, 1.5 seconds if it's between 30-45 seconds, and 2 seconds if over 45 seconds.

Drag radials are not considered race tires, unless you are running the Nitto DR both front and rear. They make a pretty decent autocross tire at 40 psi. Just running them on the rear will not count as race tires.

Workers
EVERYBODY WHO COMPETES MUST WORK THE COURSE FOR A SHORT TIME. I'm trying to keep this event as simple as possible, with lots of flexibility for drag racing, so we'll only have 4-6 worker positions that will rotate as we go. We will be keeping track so we know who to find in case we run out of 'volunteers', but there will probably be more workers than work. Workers can pick when they work, just stop by the scoring table and let them know your car number and that you are working. They will hold the start for you, just go and work for 20-30 minutes, and you will be relieved. There are only 3 positions:

Timer/Scorer - work a stopwatch or timing equipment and record car number and times/cones. Only assignment you can sit down.
Timer/Starter - work a stopwatch/timer and course control.
Corner worker (2-4) - watch cars go by, pick up cones if they hit them, signal cones & DNF's to the scorer.

If you decide not to work the course, fine, but we'll decide not to let you run anymore. And you will be subject to beatings from the BOJ (Brick of Justice). And I have a 5-inch exhaust tip, some offset stripes, clear brake lights, chromed "skateboard" wheels and a huge "Powered by Honda" sticker, we'll rice-out your car. And finally, you'll have to monitor tire temperatures by hand during the burnout contest. So work, OK?

Workers will watch for DNF's (Did Not Finish) - cars that do not complete a section of the course (i.e. miss a gate or one of the cones in the slalom(s)), and for hit cones. The worker locations will be designed into the course such that it would be extremely unlikely that an out of control car will spin that way (for instance, the inside of a long sweeping turn). If you don't feel it is a safe place to be, let us know, and we will modify it if neccesary, but please check with the organizer before changing your location, as some seemingly safe locations may not be. If your uncomfortable being out there, volunteer to work timing and scoring.

If a car hits a cone, the worker will WAIT UNTIL THE CAR IS SAFELY CLEAR OF THE AREA and go pick up the cone. If the cone is still standing and any part of it is touching or in the box, it does NOT count against the driver. If it is knocked down or completely out of the box, it does count against the driver and a 2-second penalty will be enforced.
Workers will signal hit cones with fingers indicating the number of cones hit.
A DNF (Did Not Finish) will be signaled by crossed arms held above the head.
It is the workers responsibility to make sure the scorer sees the signals. If you don't think the scorer saw it, check with them when you return from working.

Above all, BE SAFE. Never turn your back on the car on course, until it is waaaay past you. Use your best judgement, if a cone is down from the last car, and there is ANY chance that you won't be able to get it & get out of the way before the next car comes, LEAVE IT DOWN. It's not worth getting hurt over it.

If you feel someone is being unsafe, TELL THE ORGANIZER. Safety affects all of us, do not let something stupid ruin the event.

Protests
All protests will be settled at the whim of the organizer. Possible solutions might be (but are not limited to) coin flip, footrace through the course, or tactical nuclear weapons at 1000 KM. Maybe you'll have to wash my car. I don't have time to come up with a fair way, so we will go with the way that is most unfair in my favor. Realistically, I'll probably get a representative group from the competitors, explain both sides, and take a vote.

Awards / Prizes
Trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner-up in all events, with a single trophy awarded to the King Of The Hill winner.

Door prizes will be drawn at approximately 2:30pm. NOTE: You must be present to win.
