Mid-west Area Auto Enthusiasts, great end of summer event!!
******FREE TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME******
PRELUDE: this event was completely free last year (no trophies are given out as no money is brought in) and I don't expect that to change. This is for ALL area auto enthusiasts so don't be shy. So, if you've got a sweet ride (show cars, custom one-off builds, drag cars, vintage iron, etc) bring it here!!
As the end of the summer is approaching, it's time for the 2nd Annual Hawarden Iowa Cruz-In. It was our first year last year and we had a pretty nice turnout and this year promises to be even better!
It's being held on Thursday night, August 28th 2003, in Hawarden, Iowa (zip is 51023). Will start about 5:00 pm and go till 10:00 or so. Hawarden is roughly 45 miles North of Sioux City, Iowa and 50 miles South of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Activities will/should include:
Show and Shine. Basically, just park your ride and admire all the sheet metal (or plastic ! Some pretty nice cars showed up last year and are expected back this year.
Smoke Show!!! Just like last year's event, the local cops and city officials turn their backs while the big boys put on a show!! Last year we had one 6.xx car, one 7.20 car, and several fully tubbed Camaro's, Chevelle's, Mustangs, etc melting the tires.
On-site DYNO!!! I have lined up a portable Dynamometer to come and let people put-up or shut-up!! He's quoted me $75 for 3 pulls, so it certainly won't be any higher than that. If I can get some more confirmed participants, it may even get cheaper.
I expect all last year's participants back and more!!!

If you can make it to this great event, please post here. Also, copy this and make a thread at your primary bulletin board. I'd like to see a lot of you there and hopefully I will!!
