Default Going to be painting the engine bay

i removed the engine already and im going to start sanding i have 2 ?s.

the first one is what grit do i need to start with? If im changing colors from silver to blue do i need to use a primer before i start shooting the color? So far theres no write ups on this from what ive searched. Im not going to be doing any kind of filling just mainy scuffing so i start shooting the paint maybe sometime next weekend.

thanks

i would just scuff it with some 600 or some red scotch brite. You don't need to primer unless you have bare metal. But that is just what i would do

this is what i would do. use some 400-600 and a red scotch brite pad(if you plan on sealing it) and scuff it all down. if you dont want to seal it then u would use 600-800 and a grey scotch brite pad with scuffing paste. if you burn through to any bare metal be sure to use a 1k corrosion protection primer. you dont need to use a high build or anything unless you have bondo or something. after your done be sure you rinse it clean and blow all the water out of the nooks and crannies, wipe it down with silicone remover(thats what i use) or a wax and grease remover. tach it off and spray away. anymore questions let us know and we will help you out.
