Default Removing flames?

Finally got the new whip. 1994 Camaro z28 lt1 auto

payed 1500 bucks for

plans

1. flames have to go
2. ls1 will be getting swamped in (as well as the other things that go with it)
3. roll bar will be going in also
4. stereo will be going in also (2 15's on 10,000 watts rms)

My first order of business after i figure out why 1st and 2nd gear is slipping is to ditch the flames.

I believe they were painted over the factory clear. if this is so can i just wet sand them off carefully? i have a decent amount of paint experiance. (garage spray booth painted my monte carlo and my old nova.

also another member mentioned re-clearing the whole car with a blue candy mixed into the paint to make it more ghost like.

regardless i will eventually paint it after i soda blast it in july

if they are over the clear you might be able to sand them down, will be a hell of a lot of work and you will probably burn thru your clear under it in some places. other than that you will have to just paint over them.

You could try a fire extinguiser lol jk.....
I would try to sell the car for more than you bought it(if you can) and save for a LS1!

i would but,

1. i sold my only other vehicle to get this

2. buying a ls1 takes away the fun of the swap and all the little things that go with it

3. i can do the swap cheaper than buying a ls1car, local shop has a LS1 for 1600 bucks (engine trans and computer)

4. im thinking about doing a ls2 or ls3 so either way i gotta swap motors.

i do want the LS1 front-end though

When you say you bought it, did you mean you saw it on ebay and wished you could afford it?

Its just easier to repaint, you are going to burn through somewhere no matter what.

You know he could of bought the car and the seller ended the auction early to avoid the fees.
I dont think he would lie about owning that...

HE honored his craigslist price of 1500 in which i originally found the car.

when i picked it up he said it was at 1900. i offered him a extra 100 and he said a deal is a deal and wouldn't take it.

Oh and F3RR3T those flames look cleared over man so it is going to be impossible to remove those without repainting.

If the flames werent done in a tribal pattern they would have looked cool.

Good luck with the car.
