Never heard of that color heard of maple leaf firehawks but not that paint.
The color I stated above covers those years.
There is a maple red metallic I think it started in 2000 thru 2002 in the firebird line of cars little darker then ROM.
It looks like the camaro color is called monterey maroon metallic and started in 1999 thru 2002.
32 coupe 13 conv for 1999.
paint code is 44.
No ws6 cars were produced in that color.
ws6 cars had limited paint options.

I've been told that GM rotates suppliers at times. The codes might be different because of different manufacturers.

I can't imagine why or how this would be possible on the Pontiacs when it wasn't the case for Camaro. For both model years, 2001 and 2002, the SOM color code for Chevrolet was 633H (RPO 71U). In fact, 633H was even used for the handful of model year 2000 (I believe there were about ~13 SOM cars built for 2000) Camaros built as a prep production run of this color.
Not sure if any SOM Pontiac owners will catch this, but it would be great if we could get someone to confirm what color code is actually printed on their SPID labels for both a 2001 and a 2002 SOM Pontiac.
GM Sunset Orange Metallic 71/WA633H
Pontiac red orange metallic 1996-98 96/WA122B same as Cayenne Red Metallic for Chevrolet
