1997 Purple Camaro repaint it Purple or change? I have a 1997 Camaro that is purple and I was thinking to change the color but I have heard there aren't too many of these purple camaro's and also mine has a special race package on it, should I go back original? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for the replies, so far Purple it is ... that is what I thought too, but wanted some opinions. I was told that using purple was stopped 3 months into production in 1996/7.

Bright purple metallic was used in 97 & 98. The 98's are fairly rare (less than 500 total Camaros - 95 Z28 coupes and 14 z28 verts). I don't remember the nubmers on the 97s tho.
And since mine is BPM too, I say KEEP the color!

I bought the car used in Dec 2007 and I am not sure if the package on it is factory or not as it seems to have been painted before from the center of the door up. Anyone know about this race package that is shown in the picture?

Oh, I bought the car wrecked in the front and those picture where taken in Dec 2007 ... I have a quart of this PPG purple paint already but I will get more and paint the whole car over again. A quart was over $100 sense it has so much pearl in the paint.
