Default what color primer are you to use med patroit metalic

what color primer are you to use med patroit metalic since it is a gm effect paint that is semi transparent what was used on the car from the factory?

doesnt matter. Patriot red is a tri coat system where you have your base coat, the tint coat, then the clear coat. When you take down your body work you'll see what the factory went over and most of the time you can match that with a correct sealer, lay base, then tint and clear to the proper match. do a let down panel first

well any good painter will use a grey sealer on reds or tri coat red, have you ever painted a tri-coat, blended a tri-coat, its not as easy as you think it is

I would try not to use the grey primer most of the time depending on the red. It can effect the outcome of the color and make it a touch off, even though most people dont notice the difference. If you use a red base first, then you can use less coats of color to get the true red you want.

primer color dose not matter.it is the sealer color that matters.for most reds(non-metalic)it is white sealer.with tri coats it veries most paint systems have ther own recomundation as what color sealer is needed.
