I wanna know why it took 11 posts for someone to come up with mystic teal lol This color isn't that rare and I see people post pics of them all the time. Still gets a pretty good amount of attention and cool cuz most people who don't know better think its custom. haha

Heres my contribution. Believe it or not this hood came off a rolled V6 car.
This is my car in a storage lot when I first got it, wasn't taking pics of the hood, but you can see the difference in colors in the pics.

GM definently made it cuz my car has it and I know it has never been repainted. To be honest I'd rather have almost any other color, I don't care for the look that much and the second it gets dirty it doesn't shift color very well and just looks like some murky blue-green color.

Why the chameleon color is rare
In the Fall of '98 when I went to buy my T/A, I WANTED the chameleon paint. When I started to spec out my car, found out that you couldn't get the chameleon paint with the WS6 package. So it came down to cute butt or kick butt. I got the Black Sapphire Metallic and I love it!
The reality of it was, you had like 10 colors to choose from but if you got the WS6, it cut your selection in about half. The fun twist is, people still can't tell what color my car is half the time - black, purple or blue.
So I have a TransAm...it's all GOOOOOOD.

Factory Chameleon??
yes the blue green was a factory chameleon paint. I currently own a 2000 i bought alittle over 2 years ago. My title says Blue Green Chameleon. I have since had some body work done, such as the bumper repainted and a new superhawk hood put on, and the color code matches blue green chameleon paint. It is really awesome, Especially when the car is wet and sunny outside. Normal color is a green with a tint, but when you see it go past you, its blue. Very nice color.

You can see every factory color on this page of my website:

Bright Teal Metallic changes from one color to the next (blue, green, teal). Mystic Teal is almost always dark teal with a little bit of blue and a tiny bit of purple. Those are the official Camaro names, I don't know the Firebird names...
These are both mystic teal:
And believe it or not, these are both Bright Teal. The paint changes massively depending on the lighting:
