Chameleon paint from factory?????

my hood is off a mystic teal trans am. it is not a factory hood but it was matched to the factory color. good example of how much the color changes. it looks green most of the time but when you get it at the right angles and the right amount of light, the blue and purple pop out like crazy...

I had two mystic teal cars, one a '95 and the other a '96. The '95 was the unique one.
That chameleon effect on that car from the factory was considerably more noticeable than any other year. I had to get the front bumper cover repainted and the body shop told me that the were not able to match the color unless they could get the paint directly from GM. They tried to get any "leftovers", but weren't able to. He said that in '96 they changed the paint to have less of a chameleon effect because body shops were having trouble matching it.

Your '95 was likely Bright Teal Metallic. Mystic Teal always gets all the attention (especially on here since Bright Teal wasn't available on "98-'02), but Bright Teal is actually far more reactive to lighting.

Your '95 was likely Bright Teal Metallic. Mystic Teal always gets all the attention (especially on here since Bright Teal wasn't available on "98-'02), but Bright Teal is actually far more reactive to lighting.
