Is acetone safe to use on the Plastic License plate filler panel?
My firebird filler panel has SEVERAL layers of old paint on it. Its thick and chipping. I want to remove all that paint and then primer and paint it. My question is, whats the best way to remove all that paint? Thought about soaking it in a bucket of acetone. Will that eat the plastic? Typically you sand the paint off, but I didnt want to get the embossed firebird all uneven. Whats the best way guys? thanks for your help!

same problem as paint removal on bumpers.
Soda blast is the best bet
You can make one for about $2 if you have an air compressor.

you can also buy auto paint stripper that is safe for plastic bumpers at paint stores. There is brush on and spray on/aerosol type. Ive used it before and the stuff is awesome...bubbles up all the paint and you just scrape or wipe it off. Takes it all the way down to the primer. Stuff is pretty potent though, make sure you do it in a well ventilated area or your gonna get hiiiiiiiiiigh
