Glue for hood
Glue for hood Just got a OEM ram air hood. I didn't want aftermarket. It was in an accident and just a couple areas to repair but nothing I can't do. Thing is I want to get the right epoxy to glue a piece on.

Any automotive paint store should carry a product called "panel bond". It is a black and white-ish two part epoxy that comes in a siamese tube setup designed to be used with a purpose built gun. You don't need the gun. Don't use the applicator/mixer tip. Squeeze out equal parts of each tube on a piece of cardboard and mix completely. This stuff takes 24 hours to cure. But once it does, the parts it "bonded" ain't ever comin apart. lol
This stuff is a pain in the *** to sand so use just enough to bond your parts. No more, no less.

The 3M 8115 panel bond takes a special applicator gun. Its the best stuff to use.
Thanks I used something similar. The project turned out PERFECT! In short I cut up my stock hood, I had to replace the entire mounting point on the right hood hinge. I cut off the the entire section on the stock hood. I epoxied metal support under the hood ribs then expoxied the perfect metal form (OEM hood) then drilled and riveted in everything. I still need to body fill and smooth the rivited area. I just bolted it on just to check alignment and OMG its 90% on the money!! Got to love OEM!
The top of the hood is perfect...Saved a about 600 on a used OEM Ram air hood...
