Default A little off base.... but painting a boat?

ok so i have an old jet boat that im gonna be re painting and i decided on Electron blue.. wondering if anyone has used this paint on a boat or anyone on here painted a boat? what kind of clear coat did you use for the extra durability?

i am not sure, but i think for a boat, you have to use a gelcoat as a primer. Very durable.

if it is something that will sit in the water for very long periods of time... you should probably use gelcoat below the waterline.. regular base/clear is perfectly fine above it.. if its something you will be putting on a trailer every time you're done using it... base/clear will work below the waterline as well.

Ricer is right on the money. You can also use a good quality single stage urethane for the above water color but base/clear is better.

alright. ive heard of the gelcoat before im gonna have to look into it and im thinking maybe doing the whole boat with it... its like a clear coat right? the boat will only be in the water when i go to the lake on the weekends and stuff. other than that it will be on my trailer.
