Default getting started painting

I'd like to start out painting my own stuff. Maybe start with some wheels and underhood type stuff. What type spray gun should I get to start with? I have a large 220v comp but I assume I need a dryer for the air too?
Give me your tips.
thanks Lee

If your starting out small go get yourself a sharpe fx3000 hvlp down at your local oreillys or auto parts store! I actually just got mine two days ago and works like a champ! Yes you might want to get and airline filter just in case and a regulator to avoid breaking the seals on the gun.
