Hatchback door strut mounting post broken:
2000 WS6 has broken hatchback strut mounting post.
It's a plate with a pin that the strut attatches to.
It is fastened to the inside trim panel by glue or something from factory.
I have thought about jb weld, 24 hour epoxy and small bolts.
Does anyone know what kind of glue or material I should use to repair it?
Thank you.

Ever get this fixed?
Did you ever get this fixed? My '01 has the same problem and I do not see a way to fix it unless I was to pull the entire hatch apart and separate the rear hatch lamination. I guess the glue just gave out and now it moves around inside the circle and trim panel. I can live with it, but surprised at how cheezy such a heavy panel is just glued (or whatever) in place.
Thanx in advance for the assist!

My repair solution
I know that it’s been over a decade since this post was put out and I’ve looked and looked for a concrete answer on this matter and never found one. I decided to post my solution just in case someone else has this same issue and I’m sure there has to be. I faced this same problem 12yrs after someone asked for help on this problem. See attached fotos for reference. Sort of self explanatory but feel free to ask any questions.
With a dremmel I cut out a piece of the fiberglass to see what I was dealing with. Save the piece for later.
Removed the strut mount or whatever you call it to sand and scuff up the inner edges for the epoxy to grab on to.
I centered the piece, applied professional grade epoxy and wedged a piece of hard foam to keep it down.
After the expoxy has dried.
Expanding foam.
Put enough foam to fill the area for maximum coverage.
Cut the excess foam.
I glued back the piece of fiberglass I cut at the start of this project.
After a little filler putty, sanding and paint. Good as new.
