Side view mirror R&R...

Question, I am looking to purchase a driver's side mirror from another member on the forum, but I first wanted to know if it's going to fit. I have a 2001 Trans AM and the ad says the mirror came off a 95... Will it fit? Also, how does $86 for a power mirror with fresh paint sound? Decent price?

nope, a 95 mirror is only going to fit up to 99. you need a 2000-2002 mirror. the electrical connector is different.

go to car-part.com you should be able to find what you need there. it's search engine for all major junk yards in the u.s. you can search by the part you need and see who has it. hope this helps!

What about different "color-fade" for lack of a better term. Would you really notice a difference in the SHADE of red from a freshly painted mirror as compared to say the stock paint on my mirrors since it came off the factory floor?

Are you positive about them not being interchangeable? I keep seeing people selling the mirror and saying it fits all fourth gens.

yes i am sure that it wont work on your car. it may bolt on but you wont be able to connect the wiring.

The seller gave me an idea...Do the mirror housings interchange (i.e. remove the motor/wiring and stick them in the painted housing of a 95's mirror)?
