Putting a Cowl on a stock hood?

Putting a Cowl on a stock hood? Has anyone done this? I have a hood that someone cut a hole in that is the shape of an LS1 lid(this is an LT1 hood btw). I figured since it was scrap anyways, maybe I could get a cowl scoop and either bolt it on or mold it on.......Does this sound legit or should it just go on the scrap pile?????
