Default painting motor?

i have a bare block.. i was wondering what you guys are doing to paint them?

Cast or Aluminum? If alum I'd leave it bare and if cast iron I'd just clean it up real good with degreaser, then wipe it down with prep wipes real good to get any remaining resudue. Taple off the head deck, TC area and bottom end, and paint it with some Engine Block paint from VHT you can find at any local AP store. Not hard as I did mine when we had the motor out for the build over 10 years ago.

yeah what he said, one thing to take into consideration is brighter colors show EVERYTHING when they get dirty

Never heard good things about painting aluminum. Might be wrong tho as I am not familiar with painting it.

I painted mine orange but it was a 6.0 iron block. I got the paint from POR 15. It has a black or silver base I had to put down and then put the orange on. Search my name you may find the thread about it.
