hey man, sorry about your car. When i wrecked my 96 it wasnt much worse than that. It cost me a decent $$$, but i eventually got her looking pretty again. If you do decide to part it out, let me know. Im looking for a WS6 hood.

Guys, its aint wrecked bad. Even if the frame is tweaked it can be fixed.... You should see the 94 z28 I am gonna be fixing.. Its a million times worse then this.. I may make a build thread to show everyone they CAN fix it themselves... Take in mind, I'm not a body man either.

Update: Got it back (got my check) and after looking around and talking to some references, I found a place that said they can most likely straighten the rail out, and if not they can just put in a new piece, so it's sitting at their shop now, so we'll see what he estimates and go from there.

Yea, hopefully everything goes pretty smooth. All I am gonna have the shop do is the structural part, I'm gonna be doing everything else myself to save some money, plus I'm gonna be doing it over the course of a few months (getting deployed soon), so not planning on breaking the bank to fix it quick.

here is the camaro I am fixing. I am doing it myself.this work is easy. pay a shop to do the frame work.. you just drill out the spot welds and weld in new panels.

The whole "buy it back" thing is cause once a car is totaled, your insurance company essintially buys your car off of you for the "fair market value", so in order to keep it, you have to pay them the amount they would've recieved from a salvage yard for it. So in my case: the car was worth approx $9500 - $1k (my deductable) - $1200 (salvage value) value = $7300 cash and I keep my car...otherwise I would've gotten $8500 and then they take my car. So, I have WAAAY more than $1200 worth of parts installed in it, so definately keeping it, wether I fix it or not.
