i've had the same experience, twice. although i didn't do the work, a body shop did. i ended up with very pleasing results, excellent fit all the way around, no uneven gaps, and the hood is perfectly level with the bumper/fenders.

for the price difference, it was truly worth it.

sure it may need a little work, but you literally saved hundreds for a product that can look perfectly good when finished.

Fits better than I could ever get the VFN WS6 to fit on my 01 T/A. That was a huge waste of money and caused me to sell the car. I've learned it's a roll of the dice as to whether an aftermarket hood will fit well or not.

Yea, that is the same thing I was thinking. It is hit or miss when it comes to aftermarket fiberglass hoods.
