Why not Spice Red Metallic from the 06 GTO's? Or Pulse Red from the 04 GTO's?

i was only gonna use redfire because i already bought some awhile back.

i'd personally pick
pewter grey, mineral gray (mustang color), dark shadow grey (mustang color), back to the stock red (door jams are perfect already)

well i just started sanding the car, probably primer it tomorrow.

i might go ahead and use the redfire on the z28. should i do the roof too or leave it black?

should i do the Freedom Design (tall RS-style wing) redfire or do it black?

i had an image in my head of having it all redfire except the wing and have the side of the cowl hood walls black to match the wing.. maybe both satin black. (wing painted, vinyl on the cowl hood side walls in case i get tired of em)

i'm thinking maybe painting the roof black might look good too.. its black now also.

Save the time/paint and leave the roof black. I say go red with your spoiler, black on the cowl "walls" and black on the Berger Panel. Have fun!

I know you already have the paint but ford has a new red pearl called candy red you see it on the 2010 and up f series alot it's nicer than g2, if it's paint code e9 don't use it cause it fades BAD. I paint G2 alot and it's not a tri coat but E9 is,G2 is what ford replaced E9 with because of that reason I believe n they still put it on alot of cars n trucks it's not a bad color but their new color is nicer but I can't remember the paint code, on a side note if you do something in yellow use a white sealer or it will be green!

i kinda want my z28 to look mean and agressive. will the redfire ruin that? i think my glasstek hood and wing will help with the looks.

i bought red primer when i got this paint. i dont wanna waste the red primer so i'm sanding it and priming it in light grey, getting it perfect and then i was gonna spray the red primer. does that sound like a good idea? theres nothing wrong with spraying primer on top of primer is there?

my plan now is just to do the car one color. if the roofs black paint isnt in bad condition then i'll leave it black. i'll experiment later with a black wing with plasti-dip.

should i take the trunk lid and doors off when i paint it?
i just seen a thread on here where the guy just propped the trunk open half way to get all inside the trunk. and painted the door jams with the doors open.

You can use the red primer over the grey as long as it's sanded, I would suggest taking off the doors n hatch, it's more work but it makes a nicer job and not as hard to mask up.

Just be careful that color oxidizes very easily

You guys are thinking of Laser Red, which was a 3 stage paint with a tinted midcoat, it is extremely notorious for fading terribly and then started to look pinkish. Honestly I don't think I've ever seen a factory Laser Red car that wasn't faded in some spots or totally resprayed, and most of my friends are Mustang guys.

How Laser Red SHOULD look:

How Laser Red USUALLY looks (notice top of the quarter and around the taillights:

Redfire is a 2 stage paint that came out in the later years of the 99-04 body style, like '02-'03. It can look pretty sharp, but as others have said IMO there are better shades of red out there.
