01ssreda4,

My John Deere Blitz Black was $38.00 a gallon and $32.00 for the hardener. I don't know how to paint myself or it would have been less than $200 also. Sanding, dent removal, and primer on the bad spots, tack coat, and two full wet coats including door jambs and bottom of doors was $800.

If you don't like it fine. We can't all have a red Camaro afterall.

I don't have any friends around here that are accomplished shutterbugs. I went to high school with a guy who is a professional photographer now for Ft. Benning in Columbus, Ga. but that is 3 hours away..........

I hope not to hijack your thread, but I have one question. Im going to do the same to my car in the beginning of the year I hope. Will the Dupli Color Satin Black Do the trick? Im gonna take my sweet time using spray cans, maybe just buy the gun that attaches to the can.

so, OP, you said you used your friends' dads' equipment, meaning you used his booth? or was this an "in garage" job. im looking to do this exact same thing on a 00 camaro, and wonder if im going to run into any dust problems if i use my garage.

sry for the delayed response.
we used a garage
the thing with the kirker paint is that it is a lot thicker than normal paint...so you have to have the gun at 60ish psi...and when we did it...there was very little overspray/dusting compared to a house of kolor job we did prior that left the entire garage blue lol

looks good, I flat blacked my 02 corvette. it shows marks from people rubbing up against it and such. I use lemon pledge in a spray can (funiture polish) and it really makes mine look good. I put it on and let it soak then just spread evenly. FWIW i used shopline epoxy primer
