Question Painting Mirrors, Sail Panel, Spoiler, and Hood Black?

Alright, so it started with doing some research on the CETA bumper mod, which I will definitely be doing soon. But then I found some pics from a member on here with a yellow Trans Am where he painted the spoiler black and photochoped a pic of painting the sail panels and roof black. So, I started toying with the idea. And I did a bit of photochopping myself. Well, here they are. Please let me know your opinions. Is it too much? Could it look good? Thanks.

Original

Black sail panels, spoiler, mirrors, bodyline thing above T/a emblem and hood. With a red Firebird on the sail panel.

Same as above but with C6 rims.

Default Looks good to me...

That looks pretty good. With a dark tint, it would really look sweet. Having said that, it does look a little like a 1990 Eclipse, which isn't such a bad thing since it they were nice looking cars.

I like it. And thought about doing the same exact thing to my 97 TA. BUT I am a little torn between that paint job and another one I found online. I will include a few pics of the other paint job. Let me know what you think. By the way my TA is red also.

The sail panel and mirrors yes, but i think the Spoiler and hood look tacky. Just my 2 cents.

Before I got my Z28, I wanted a red Trans Am, and already planned on painting the sail panel black. Both camaros and trans ams IMO should all have the roof black if the body is red. It looks incomplete (to me at least) when it's t-tops and then a body colored sail panel instead of black. Makes a nice two tone look as well especially with tint.

Painting the WHOLE hood makes it look like it's a swapped part. But painting the sail panel, mirrors and spoiler looks great. And I think black C6 rims would look better since the chrome really stuck out. I'd recommend removing the outer door trip and painting the "Trans Am" badges black. That'd tie it all together quite nice!

i painted my mirrors black, along with the sail panel and the TOP part of the wing. also have VHT'd tails and CETA mod. i could get you some pics if you'd like. oh yeah, and it has a non-ram air hood with some ghetto flat black stripes painted on from the previous owner, that's pretty lame but i haven't gotten to that yet.

oh yeah and i pulled my emblems and painted the edges of them black, but left the faces silver. and the tails were coated with real clearcoat so they're nice and glossy

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback guys. I think I'll do something like what OIF1VET has, which looks incredibly awesome. But with the black mirrors. And yeah, I think black C6 or 2010 ZR1 rims would look awesome with the rest of the black stuff. And yeah, I'm going to find the red Firebird badges for the sail panels, and have the outline of the one on the hood painted black. For the back I'm going to get new taillights (maybe hit them up with Niteshades like my Vic), the center panel between the lights with a red Firebird logo, black Pontiac fill in letters, and do the CETA bumper mod. I really want to get to work on this thing now. But I'm not going to do it until I get the rims, which are a bit hard to find. Well, thanks again guys.

And yeah zerogravity779, I had seen pics of that car online, but I'm not really a fan of the whole two tone thing on these rides like that. I think it would have looked nicer if he only painted the lifted Ram Air part of the hood black. But hey, that just my opinion.

And SSkull, I agree. Red sail panel with t-tops looks whack.

Also, whitedevilWS6 I would love to see some pics of that thing. Sounds great.

Also, Cheap Guy. I hope people don't make that connection. lol. Though both cars are from the same era, I really don't want a car which related to anything importish. Though if I had to pick a cheap import, I guess second gen Eclipses are pretty sweet looking with some tasteful mods.

If your going to replace your taillights, check out this thread first. Might be something you want to try first. And looks awesome. I am going to be doing it soon.

Yeah omarrakeen, I don't think I'll be doing the spoiler. And thanks for the compliment. My ride needs some work, but for a '94 it's in great shape.

And zerogravity779, thanks for the suggestion. My taillights are pretty bad. But I don't know if it's purely cosmestic, because at night they're not too bright. I mean, you can barely see them. Might be best to replace the housings (maybe get some LS1 one's with the honeycomb) and bulbs and check the wiring. But yeah, I'll probably try this out first. I was planning on doing Niteshades anyways. Thanks again.
