Default 98-up WS6 front end conversion on 95 Trans Am???

I have a 95 trans am and was thinking of changing the front end on it and making it into a newer style front end like the 2002 ws6 front end,but i was wondering wat major modifications i would have to do to make it fit????

My sister was wanting to do this conversion on her 95 as well. We were planning on trying to find some decent buys and piecing it together. I know finding a parts car would be best but I don't know if that will happen. What do these swaps usually cost? around $1200 or so?

I dont think you will spend that much unless you go ws6 hood , the most expensive part will be the headlights , then front bumper cover and of course ws6 hood , if you go normal flat hood that should be less then $100 .

Cool! I think I'll probably just use the flat hood for now. Maybe I'll be able to sell the 95 parts to recoop some funds as well.

I need to start watching for parts. I figured it would be much cheaper to go this route than buying an ls1 car.

Ive honestly only spent a few hundred and have most of what I need. I had a hell of a time finding fenders so I had to order non oe from ebay, luckily they seem to have no fitment issues though.

Protip.... if you want ls1 styling buy an ls1.
You will be better off in the long run. Also.... Lt1 Camaro's look the best as far as 4th gen goes..... imho.

Quit trying to deter the swappers, it just makes cars like mine a tiny bit more uncommon.

Just putting in my 2 cents. If it a real Trans Am and not a Firebird do the swap for sure. I personally think non WS6 pre '98 Trans Ams are ugly as sin.. there's just something off but I think base 1993-97 Firebirds look the best of the 4th Gen. Fbody's again just my opinion I just think they have nice sleek look.

However 1993-1995 means no OBD-II and exemption from emission requirements in many states.

This is true in NC, where 1995 and earlier cars only have to have a "Visual Safety Inspection". In other words, if it LOOKS like your car has Cats and all the lights, horn, and tires are OK, you are "good to go".

I have a 96 ws6 trans am I do not like the front of the car. From what im reading a 98 ws6 front bumper and hood will bolt right up. Im also wanting to swap a ls1 into the car will it bolt up to my m6 tranny? Or am I better off just building up the lt1 thats in the car

An L's motor will bolt up to the Borg warner t56 but I believe you will need a different clutch (Icould be wrong)
But thathat's the least of you issues unless you have a donor car, as for the wiring, k member, brakes, fuel lines etc are all different .
