Burkhart Chassis support brace
Can anyone tell me how a chrome moly tube brace is lighter than the existing OEM Styrofoam nose and supporting parts for the bumper-That's what it claims on their website, It doesn't seem correct. I've already removed the OEM PARTS.
Thanks in advance

Isn't it the whole bumper support, like the metal half of it as well, I believe some metal comes away with it. And you gotta think....that styrofoam isn't your run of the mill styrofoam airplane stuff, it has to be able to absorb the shock of a collision, its pretty dense stuff. Then think of hollow chrome moly tubes, which are quite light if you have ever held any.

Yeah now that you mention it I did remove the crash bar, it's been quite a while ago. I sent the car to Xtreme Horsepower solutions last Feb 10 for a complete engine, suspension & chassis build-the car is coming home next month so now I have to get the nose reassembled.

It is a straight bolt on. we use the factory push pins at the top to secure the nose. You can cut the bottom flap off if you want.
The support is ~10 pounds. The factory one weighs 20 - 25 depending on who you listen to. we could make ours lighter but then the tubing would not pass NHRA tech for a fluid enclosure. we mount fuel cells, Intercoolers, and Radiators in them.

Straight bolt on??? Like their nine inch? Better get a cut off wheel, a drill, and a hydra power to make it fit maybe a jack and a few jackstands to help twist it straight. Don't powder coat it until you get it mounted.
