Default Resurrecting an ss

Well the ss in my sig is one I bought for a school shop class but couldn't bring myself to get rid of it and the instructor said it was too far gone. So here it is and I am NO body man. So if I'm doing it wrong let me know. I started by straightening it as good as I could then start replacing stuff. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

That car is very savable, looks like you are going about it the right way. Its not complicated, you just need to do a lot of double checking. Check it twice and weld once. These cars are put together pretty crappy, so it doesnt take much to knock them out of whack. On the flip side, they're easy to repair too.

looks go so far.

But do you think giving a 400+rwhp drive sports car to a new woman driver is a good idea?

Looks like your going about it the right way. And yeah, that car can be saved. Good luck with it and hope it works out. Post pics of the progress and pics when it's done.

Ok got to spend a little bit of time on the car this week. I got all my gaps and body line good and welded up all the spot welds. Noe I just need to find out what type or brand of sealer/putty to put on all the seams and spot welds. Anyone know? Also how far does it go how much should I buy? Just waiting on several more deliveries and time to finnish.

Today was like Christmas in march .been gone all week working and came home to my tci flywheel, bmr transmission cross member and adjustable pan hard, plus my edelbrock timing chain cover. Last week got pro magnum rockers and psi springs, plus my circle d multi disc converter. And last sunday I welded up the quarter. 402 and 80 are ready to go in and the week before that I picked up the 9" and adjustable lower control arms. I am thinking about going ahead and running the ati 4.5 twins for now. But if they hold it back too much I'll go with a front mount. Still gotta buy wheels and tires and get it all together and don't want to spend more than I have too for now. I'm broke as it is. But it'll be worth it, besides the 150 shot will help fill the void. Oh yeah forgot got the Texas speed 1 7/8 headers too

^^^^lol yep^^^^^ ran into a problem today with mine though. Xceldyne doesn't make locks for these retainers for 8mm valve stems and they dont offer retainers and locks for the springs with 8 mm valves except in ti. But for a dd that's a bad choice. So now I'm working on a new direction for the top end of my heads.....

Well I haven't gotten much done but I did order the new style off road y from Texas speed and a set of low profile cutouts from dmh. The picture is not of mine but gives an example of them. I will have to move the driver side closer to the driveshaft to clear my subframe connectors but not much. Also ordered pro thane mounts for the motor and trans and I'm waiting on a request from a member on the board to pay for a nitrous system. That about sums it up for now. Workin too much to touch the car but the parts pile its getting . Last min update also just bought this set up from a member here nx wet Kit includes everything in the wet kit, even installation manual. Has the shark style sprayer, so will work with most fuel injected systems.10lb bottle. All switches.(retail +$600)
My kit also has a bottle warmer, purge, blow down tube and fuel pressure safety switch.Everything you need. (retail+$500)
Asking $450 O.B.O.

Nitrous Express Remote bottle opener. New in box (retail $260) just gonna put my compucar kit on the blue car for my daughter......needless to say all my regular bills are getting juggled to get this thing done but it will be worth it in the long run.
