First thread... Berger mod panel DONE
Been here on the forum for a while, decided it was time to post a new thread. First things first, got my 01 Z28 about a month ago. It was in kinda bad shape and there's definitely some body work to do but anyways, today it was time for a couple cosmetic fixes
First off, needed to resurface my headlights...again. Tried a kit once but didn't let the sealant dry right (too much heat, hazed over again) So I went for round 2 using the same kit, with much better results this time. Pic is of them drying in the oven on the lowest heat setting
Next up was my tail light panel. Always loved the black panel look so I went for it... Picked up a can of the Krylon FUSION satin black, which is supposed to bond to most any plastic or coated surface without sanding or priming. I didn't trust that completely so I went ahead and wet sanded the entire panel with 2000grit until the clear coat was dull. After about 6 light coats and one or two finishing coats, let it dry for a couple more hours and installed it. Love the finished product...except for my red bowtie and Z28 emblems not being back on yet.
