Well poop.

Did the CETA mod tonight, for $10 (1 can and a roll of plastic to mask) you really cant go wrong. Will probably peel it off and do it again in the spring but for now it is good for me. It's pretty tricky to peel the tape and not mess up the dip patience is key and alway pull away from the dip if you give it a try.

How well does it hold up? I have heard mixed reviews and curious to how long something like this would last. I know it isn't a permanent deal but wanted to test some colors on my wheels. Just curious to how it holds up against the elements, on wheels, body, plastic whatever.

Dipyourcar has plenty of vids on youtube talking about the durability of the plastidip.

Just curious what everyone here was experiencing. Feel it is more unbiased than watching a video and getting information from the supplier is all.

I hear ya however there are users who have posted on youtube as well and have given their experiences. Looks like if it's applied right, it will be smooth and NOT look like stucco and is pretty tough too once it cures.

Gonna try it on my hood and wheels next month.

I sprayed my whole car 5 months ago. So far so good. But my car is garage kept and only driven maybe 2,000 miles a year. It has been washed numerous times. I've never used a pressure washer like I've seen in some of those youtube videos, just my garden hose on full blast. The only thing that I have had a problem with is the rocker panels from getting in and out of the car. If your leg brushes it a lot, especially wearing jeans, it will start peeling in that area. Other than that, I love how this plastidip paint job has turned out and would not hesitate doing it again. I think as long as you realize that it is not a permanent paint job, you will be very happy.

Thanks for the opinion. I am looking at doing the spokes on my wheels (getting around the motorsport style wheels is going to be a PITA). If it is holding up that well with the whole car I would imagine my wheels will be alright. Only driven in the nice weather for the most part, no snow or road grime allowed. Might get crazy with it and do the CETA bumper with it too in some different shades...

I did this back in september last year and I've hit it with the pressue washer at the car wash a half dozen times and lightly "scrubbed" with the foaming brush once or twice (as I was concerned of catching an edge) and aside from being dirty from all the nasty weather we have here lately it is holding up perfectly, I really need to hand wash the whole car and get an updated pic.

Did my sail panel, CETA, mirrors and emblems last summer.

I also did the wheels on my truck a couple years ago and they've held up pretty well. I tried it on the bumpers too but wasn't a big fan of how it looked.

Did you use the glossifier on the sail panel too?

I ask because I want to do the same thing but add the glossifier afterwards.

I'm sure that would look good. At least you can take it off and do it over again if you don't like it.
