I know it has been done but i really wanna try doing this to an entire car, but if it only lasts a few months, its not worth the effort. lol everyone that has done the plasti dip paint job has only done it for a short period of time for a car show etc.
Anyone out there has had it on their car for long periods of time? lets say over 6months to a year?

That Explorer looks 100% better now, but there are much better products you could have used to paint that plastic. Permanent products.
When that wears off, check out Krylon Fusion, Dupli-Color bumper coating, or Duplicolor spray on bedliner if you wants a texture.
A LOT of plastic painting happens on the Grand Cherokee boards, and those are prob the top 3 products.
The bedliner is really popular, It looks good and is scratch resistant, but the texture makes it hard to keep clean...stuff likes to stick to it.

the next was the sail panel, which came out very smooth and even. there's a small learning curve vs. spray paint but with some practice and patience you can get it pretty smooth.

Made some hood stripes on my Raptor hood last night with the help of a friend. May add some lines for the inside scoops or redo the stripes completely. We masked out one side, sprayed it, removed the tape and masking material about 10 seconds after finishing the last coat, let that dry, then duplicated that stripe on the opposite side using rough measurements.
Excuse the dirty car:

I doubt it would stay, I would think it will burn off. But we'll never know unti someone tries.
This^
Found Plasti Dip at Ace hardware
I tried one of my rims yesterday.
I washed it pretty good and just dried it and sprayed away.
It is a little more 'slow' than spray paint.
Doesn't cover as quickly.
Also, Let it dry for a while before you use whatever you are painting.
My dad needed the jack holding my car up so I only had ~ 40 Minutes drying time and my lugnut twisting started to peel the plasti dip.
I was going to finish the other 3 and take better pictures today but it has been really rainy.
I'll get them done this week.
