Default Finishing my Calipers but clear coat is wrinkling?

I'm not sure why but when I lay down the clear coat, it is wrinkling up. My base coat is laying down nicely though. Any insight?

Are both clear and base from the same paint systems? Sometimes different systems even if from the same manufacturer are not compatible. For example: Just because both are DuPont doesn't mean they will play nice together. You are experiencing what is called "lifting".

I'm using VHT red brake caliper paint and Dupli-color's clear coat. The passenger side came out fine with no wrinkling. The driver's side bracket had some wrinkling in it.
