I'm rebuilding a 2001 Camaro. I am going to repaint the entire car. I am trying to decide how to do the engine bay. I'm torn between painting it back the white body color, or either gloss black, or matte black. Let me know what you think.

I could see a black engine bay if you're going to do the CETA mod and a couple of things like that, but it'd look weird if it was the only black thing on the car.

I am going to paint the sail panel gloss black to blend with the windows and t-tops. I will be doing the matte black berger panel with stainless inserts. 35th anniversary style stripes in hugger orange with the ss scoop blackout. SLP SS grille painted white with the orange stripes running through it. Whistler modded headlights, moulding delete. Lowered on chrome 10 spokes.


I will also be hiding the wires on the right fender apron and getting cover for the computer, battery, and fuse blocks. If I painted it black I was going to do the strut tower brace and lid white and some other accents around the engine.

i thought about painting mine flat black like the old school muscle cars when i was doing the motor swap, looking back on it i'm glad that i didn't!
