Default Uh oh
So i just finished washing my car and was drying it getting ready to use the new buffer i got on it to make the paint pop....

drying the door where the trim piece is in the middle of the door and BAM clear coat just starts flaking off..... SON OF A BITCH!!!!

Well if anyone has seen my other thread about first try at painting.... guess it looks like my car is next... FML

That sucks, aleast it's black n so u don't have to worry about the color match.

yea not too worried about a color match any way... i need to redo the whole car due to rock chips and scratches... also there is a spot where like one layer of clear flacked on the sail panel and rear bumper.... this spot on the door tho is straight to base coat... you can tell because its soo flat

There's 776xx on it and I bout it with 70000 I just left the paint shop and he said he thinks it may have been re painted and thus why it flaked because tey taped that area maybe idk... Anyway stopping at home depot then off to tear my baby apart

I didn't read your first post correctly, thought you were saying the clear was coming off the car you painted. Now you have a reason to give your car a fresh new paint job!

already started stripping it down.... didnt realize these cars are 90% fiberglass!!!

i also did not realize how much of a story you can get from a car when you strip the paint... the whole rear quarter on passenger side was covered in bondo with no holes but the lip where it meets the sail panal is a little different and also the door on the pass side is white originally... ganna have to get a car fax report
