Default SS Spoiler post gaps?

I've got some substantial gaps at the vertical posts on my SS Spoiler. Just got it back from paint a week or two ago and finally finished installing it last weekend. Thinking I should drill this part and stick a couple bolts in there to try to close it up.

Can't really tell from here.

Isn't there supposed to be some double-stick tape there to seal it? And I always thought that there were two screws there anyway. were you just trying to get away with not using them?

^ I got mixed feedback on screwing/bolting down the center posts. I think I'll end up bolting it to close the gaps. I have some foam tape, not what came with the spoiler, but my own stuff. The only thing that came with it was the tail light.

there was double sided tape there from the factory, almost like a silicon sealant. I would think more in that direction other than bolting it down.

The factory double sided tape has a very strong hold, if you can use some that's just as strong, and push it together to close the gap, the tape would probably hold it closed.

My aftermarket one came with bolts and holes for it, but it also came with pre cut weatherstrip pads that supported the center sections. I installed with just those precut pads under the middle section, filled the gap.

^ Yeah.. The only thing mine came with was a tail light. I had to improvise, otherwise.

I'd say just getting some stock from a parts store and cutting it to follow the curves of the post should be fine. I would post a picture, but you really can't see details with mine being a black spoiler
