Default What material should I use for pastic repair?

Im trying to modify my gauge cluster bezel and I am adding some plastic to it. I will be attaching the plastic with 2 part epoxy that I have but what should I use as a body filler? to make the nice contours and such? I heard If I use regular filler it will eventually crack. so what is the next cheapest alternative?

It is completely worth it, trust me. It is the ONLY thing I will use for plastic fabrication. It really strong, bonds better and its flexible like the plastic your applying it to. It also sands down well. I actually use the 3m stuff as little differently. For structural I first use Dynatron( I use this like you'd use bondo), which is similar product, but much stonger. I can actually make a part out of this stuff. Then I use the 3m 5895 a final glaze( like a glaze you'd use for finish work with body work), because it sands down so well

Though a ton of people use it, and I suppose it does work fine(short term lol ), its just not suited well to fabricing with plastic and its adds alot of weight. Bondo is heavy and it can crack over time. If you must use body filler, at the very least, use super fine 3m filler. The bondo brand stuff is complete junk and its 10 times harder to work with.

Heres a link to the dynatron stuff if you were interested. The right products may cost a little more, but long term durability and ease of use more than make up for the headache mess of using body filler on flexible interior plastics.

Thanks for the info! The dynatron seems cheaper. It says its mainly for bumper repair. Can I still use it on my gauge cluster?

Yes it is. Ive used it quite often fabbing interior pieces. Head up, the work time is very short, as in less than 5 minutes. Have a game plan mapped out before you mix the stuff up.
