Yeah I got this crazy idea in my head and went with it. The particle board on the top of my at home work bench has had so much thinner, reducer, and other **** spilled on it that its deteriorating bad. Ive been wanting to do something with it but wasnt sure what to do. That and I didnt want to spend a lot of coin on a nice metal top.
So I bought this piece of lamanant board ( or whatever the hell you call it ), cut it to size, sealed, and painted it. It has about six coats of clear on it to give it "deep" look. Colors are Sonic Blue (Carbon edition Corvette) and the green from the new Camaros.
The original particle board top.

New board on top of old.

In the booth.

Sealer

Blue

Laying out the stripe. Because Im a nerd like that.

lol, Ill be a little careful but Im also going to use my bench like Ive always used it. It only cost me $13 to make this. So if I mess it up I can always make a new one.

Thanks everyone.

Looks awesome! What about laying a thin sheet of plexiglass over top of it like the invisible shield!
