Default Car keyed...paint help.

Thanks to the local *********, I get to replace my rear Mickey Thompsons and get some paint work done on the pass side. I'll show the pics. $1000 is my ins deduct so that isn't even worth the hassle. Repaint isn't an option so I'm wondering if touch up is something viable. It looks like some of it it can be buffed out, but in some places its down to the primer. No bare metal exposed thankfully so not too too deep. It's not a show car and it doesn't need to be absolutely perfect. What's the process, buff first or touch up and then buff? A paint shop will do it but I'm just trying to get the best course of action.

So wait, not only did they key the car, but also slash your tires?

Sometimes I hate people! Like the guy who bashed my quarter with his stupid door.

I'm no pro by any means, but I'd try a buffing first to see what can be buffed out, then see what something like a touchup pen gets you, and buff again after that. At least it seems to be worth a shot to me...

I'd pay the $1k and get a set of new tires and paint.

if u run your finger nail across the scratches and your finger nail catches the scratch tht mean it scratch is too deep it can not be buffed out.this means the panel need to be refinished.if it doesn't catch your finger nail then u can buff it out with some good compound the polish it up and if if go away.good luck!

Local *********? Did you not even know these people? Who the **** keys a car on both sides and slashes the tires. Think about what enemies you may or may not have, I'd be researching the revenge aspect of this.

I have no enemies. I am still fairly new in the community here. Sometimes jealousy or drunkenness warrants such behavior. No retaliation or anything is on my mind, just want to fix it, and keep it in the garage at all times.

Seems to be an isolated deal. Spoke with Sheriff's office here and no vandalism reports recently. Member of city council concurred. Not worth filing a report or claim, like I said just fix and move on. Already got some tires lined out. Did suspension work for a friend Fri night and he's buying Nittos, so he comp'd me his 295 BFG GForce KDWs. Not MTs but they'll suffice.

That's the problem, $1000 isn't feasible right now so I'm looking at finding suitable solutions until a respray is an option. Plus, for resale purposes I don't want a comprehensive claim due to vandalism tagged to the car's history that is currently totally clear.

Jealousy is shown by hate. I would try buffing it out or use a cutting cream and see how well that works. If it doesnt then getting it repainted wont run too much money because its a really simple fix
