How Much should I pay Hey guys im currently under going my drag car build and i'd like to go for a vintage flat grey. My stock paint job is kinda starting to look like crap so i'd like to have it redone can anyone tell me what i should pay for a decent paint set up
Depending on how picky and how nice you want it, I would say 2500-4500. You pay for prep work, but that is how you get a nice job. Attention to details in prep is key. I would charge in that area though.

Im doing all the prep work myself. I have a shop that quoted me $900 for paint + clear if i do all prep.
Sand entire car with grit 400. Wash car with dish detergent before and after to remove wax. Re-sand car look for shiny paint and sand shiny. Might have to re-sand car 3-4 times.
Removing all trim on doors fender quarter panels. Remove weather strips from windows.
Remove Side skirts, spoiler, even door locks....
