I am about to pull the trigger on 6LE's carbon fiber hardtop to replace my bubbling, shitty roof I am currently sporting on my Camaro in my sig. I've called a couple of body shops in my area for an installation estimate for the new hardtop and they range from $800-1,000! This price seems pretty steep to me, or am I being unreasonable? I would appreciate yalls input for what a fair price would be for this job, since i dont want to screw it up doing it myself.
SN: The guy at the body shop claims the windshield has to be removed for this job, and I told him I thought it did not. Who's right?

If I remember right the dealer was charging that plus more in some locations. I got lucky and the dealer replaced mine.

Mines in the shop right now getting that done. (A GM dealer.) They quoted me $1067.00 for paint and labor. Bought the roof myself. I didn't think that was bad. If you wanted done right with a lifetime garantee you have to pay.

The windsheild shouldnt have to be removed. I know i didnt have to remove it when i converted my buddys car to t top.

Ok, I guess it costs a "little" more than I expected! If that's the case , mine should be closer to the $800 range as I dont need to get the roof painted since it'll be carbon fiber. Damn, all this money for a problem that never should have occured. Once again, thanks GM.

I thought you'd be able to install the CF one yourself with some help from a friend, considering it doesn't need to be prepped first.

I'm still on the fence on whether or not I want to try and tackle that install. Body work can get kind of hairy, so that's why I might just pay to have installed so I don't have to worry about fukin it up.
