need hinge answer asap
My driver side lower hinge is all fucked up. Im assuming its the pin/bushing. I need tp fix this asap since i plan on putting my sunoco stripes on. Now after all ive read i really just want a definitive answer. Can i just swap in new pin/bushings? If so, where do i get them and is there a write up? If i need the whole hinge where can i get that since the dealer told me the driver side is discontinued.
Fyi, this is for my 01 SS
thanks,
Adam

go to oriellys/autozone/advanced auto, in their help section, look for the pin and bushing set, cost around 5 bucks and its easy to install. no you shouldnt have to replace the whole hinge hince why they use a brass bushing, the bushing wears out first and even if it did wallow the hole out a little, the new bushings will straighten it back out.

have you actually done this on your camaro? the only reason im asking is the more i keep reading i see some people saying this is not a serviceable part and that i need to change the whole hinge. Id like to just do the pin if its easier and cheaper obviously. I looked on ebay and saw some kits claiming they are for a 98 camaro and im assuming its the same. i Dont wanna order it and then realize that its not possible to change. Is there a writeup anywhere of someone who has actually done this?
Sorry if i seem impatient i just really wanna put my stripes on but i cant do it until my door body lines are all lined up

awesome dude, thanks. im gonna head over to autozone on lunch or right after work. Sorry if this is a dumb question but im assuming itll say on the back of the package that its for an 01 chevy and whatnot correct? How does the pin come out? im assuming i have to lift the door a bit to take the weight off it and i guess its pretty straightforward from there?
