Default Getting a new paint job!!

Well last week someone keyed the hell out of my car and insurance has already approved the repairs. Basically getting an entire paint job but undecided whether to go with the original color which is black or go with a different color.

My car.

After much debate i decided to change the color of my car to sunburst orange metallic. Here some teaser photos.

Before

Work in progress. Should be ready hopefully by next week.

Modified my headlights and added some TSX projectors.

Also added the 6LE dual exhaust valance with some Corsa clones.

LMK what you guys think.

Black would be easier. If you change colors you will want to get everything (door jambs, engine bay) painted to match.

Yeah that's what I figured. So what black should I get looking for something that's deep black.

Cadillac has a badass black color... something like Diamond Pearl Metallic or something. Looks sick.

Odd ball vote, same blue on yours wife car. As stated though all the jams would have to be done. I think the color would be a lot different than any other color on a Camaro.

i agree i like the color change, the only thing that would be noticable would be the engine bay but since it is black who cares! as long as the hit up everything else tho (doors, hatch etc...) go for it, besides its all in what you want. Make it custom to yourself

Thanks for the input. Yeah i would definitely do the door jams and hatch as for under the hood i would leave it black either way everyone usually paints it black to begin with.

Well so many people are against the color change; thinking about leaving it black. I'll know for sure Monday, I'm going to go look at a color book and if none of the black colors get my attention I'm going to leave it stock.

just so you know, if you want a color change you'll be paying for more on top of what insurance will be paying. But I'm confused when you say you are "basically" getting the entire thing redone. To do it right they would take every panel off and paint it the new color.

the shop said they were going to have to paint the entire car; Since they would have to blend door to quarter panel, hood to bumper etc etc. they gave me the option to change color without door jams or under the trunk. I would have to pay extra.

I,m on the side of staying black. If you do a search on blackest black, etc, you will find some good info AND many different opinions on what,s blackest. Gm black actually has a hint of brown in it. Some have just a hint of blue to enhance it. Many factory pack blacks are a purer black. BASF has what some believe to be one of the deepest blacks-google the new rebuilt year one bandit trans ams.
One detail I haven't seen mentioned on this thread, If the body shop does a decent prep job, preferably with some long block sanding, followed by a good color sanding/buffing job, your car will look a whole lot better than it did from the factory.

R you sure you want to strayaway from black?

If you do it that way I wouldn't go with a drastic color change but I think with it originally being black you could do a dark color and be ok. The Aston Martin paint looks really sweet.
