How much to fix this? Just picked this car up. 02 WS6. I looked under the car and didn't notice any frame damage. How much do you guys think it would cost to fix?
Quarters are buckled, back end of the car is caved in, and the floorpans are smashed... Uh yeah it has frame damage. It's a unibody so the quarters are part of the frame, so to speak. If the subframe members are OK it still may be fixable but I suspect they at least got tweaked a little bit. But with that much damage it looks to me like you'd need to splice on the back end of another car to actually fix that. At least the door gaps look normal.
it all depends where you take it, what parts they use, and what the labor rate is there. at our shop our labor rate is a measly $45/hr. CO may be higher. Probably about 8 hrs of work on the quarters. 4hrs on the rear panel. blend both doors. (so an hour of teardown on each) probably $800ish in paint work/materials. then figure in a rear bumper and bar. taillights ect.
THIS IS ALL JUST A RANDOM GUESS. I am not an estimator, just a collision technician. i dont have a good grasp on shop prices. just trying to get close.

It definitely needs to go on a frame rack. Figure 4hrs of frame time and if the buckles come out of the qtrs and you dont have to replace one I'd figure 8hrs on each qtr at least, plus the tail panel looks pretty fubard and the floor pan looks to be buckled as well. So im sure it probly gives at least 8 hrs to R&R the tail panel. Then it needs a bumper painted,tail panel, both qtrs and both doors blended. Id have to look up the paint time and the R&I times for the door handles,key locks, belt moldings, door moldings. But just a guess I'd day 20 hrs in paint labor plus 3hrs for tearing down the doors.
So thats 31hrs in body and frame, then 20 hrs in paint. So in just labor that would be 2550.00
Plus paint materials which on 20hrs would be like 600 dollars.
Plus all the parts, tail panel, bumper, bumper reinfprcement...

I bought my 98 crashed and fixed it in steps so it wasnt a big chunk of money. I bought used parts ($400) had it pulled ($400) and the front end aligned ($75). Then I drove it 4k miles before I finally fixed and painted it ($1800). Its still not completely done and Ive had it almost 2 years
If you have sentimental value in this car I would say keep it and pay the money to fix it up. Looking at it just at first glance there has to be frame damage that is for sure. You are looking around 6 to even as high as 10 grand to fix all this damage and bring it back to mint condition. I would say, invest your money elsewhere.

If you have something else to drive and can depend on, I would fix it and if you can, fix it yourself and use that as a learning experience also.
I myself would like to find something like that and use it to help me learn auto body a little bit and just fix it up myself with maybe some help from a shop since I wouldn't have every tool they use to fix something like that.
