What kind of welder to buy to weld body panels ?
I talked with a friend about getting some body panels welded on my car, 67 Firebird. He has a welder but it cant do this type of job. Instead of hiring someone to do this I mentioned that I will buy the welder and he can do the work. What kind of welder do I buy to weld body panels? I saw this at Harbor Freight, is this good enough?

Welding with flux core wire is much messier than uncoated wire & 75/25 mix shielding gas. I might use something that cheap to weld trailer brackets, but not automotive panels. Not sure if the harbor freight models are convertable to gas.Lincolns like sold at homestores aren,t bad, Hobart is just underneath miller in price& features.

got my 125 flux from northern tool for 200 bucks... Flux works just as good as regular
GMAW do such as your typical MIG.. you just gotta remember than FLUX usually welds hotter and you have more cleanup between welds... flux is more common on ranches because you dont have to have perfectly clean surfaces to weld...
