Default Repaint rear bumper on or off car?

My rear bumper is cracked on my Camaro so I was able to pick one up at the local salvage yard but is it better to have a body shop paint it while it's still off the car or should I install it, then have it painted? Color is black

Off is much easier, and they aren't hard to take off or put on....

Alright thanks. I just wasn't too sure since they are so damn flexible. Was worried about having the new paint "crack"

If it's already off the car, just give them the bumper.

Make sure to sand out any imperfections. If there's spider webbing, sand the entire bumper down to the plastic.

They used to put flex agent in paint to help avoid the paint cracking, but now water-borne paint has enough flex that no additive is needed.
