Default SS Hood fix
Bought a SS hood has a kind of big crack in it on the underside of the hood i was thinking just get some more fiberglass resin and mesh and kind of fiberglass it back together. Then after sand and use epoxy primer on it? Any better ways to do this for cheap?

are these hoods SMC and not fiberglass? so fiber repair would be a bad thing?

Its a 98-02 probably looks different because my phone camera blows and its definitely fiberglass

I think he means the scoop is lt1 style. It gets broader towards the windshield where the Ls1 ss scoop goes in slightly at the windshield.

Its definitely for a 98-02, the fitment will depend on the quality of the hood and your body man.

i have repaired many more than 10 smc original equipment hoods using fiberglass resin u def can just smear it on and let it go it will crack up and come back off

Sorry, I don't follow you. Can you explain please? Are you saying that fiberglass resin cracks and comes back off smc...so it's not good to use it.....or are you saying it works well?

if its OEM.......it should be SMC......aftermarket its fiberglass.......no? use the proper repair procedure for the material is all i am sayin

Drill a small hole at each end of the crack and that should help it no to crack further. Kitty hair fiberglass resin works well.
