I just ordered a Superhawk hood and I'm considering painting it myself. I'm also considering painting my sail panel black. I've done my ceta which I plan to redo in gloss along with the sail panel but I'm not sure what I should start with. Pretend your talking to someone paint retarded. What are the steps I should take? Just take some scotchbrite scuff it up, primer, and spray? Start with something like 320 and no scotchbrite?

 

I wish I had enough room in my garage to set up a paint station =(. I would love to learn how to paint and do some body work. I would have some nice custom stuff done on my hawk.
