Default Cracked bumper.

How fixable is the bumper cover for the 02 Camaro? It's cracked in a few places. Is it worth to buy an intact bumper instead?

depending on how bad it is it could be fixable... but with how many of these cars are being parted out it would be easy to find a good used one

SEM plastic weld. Comes in the mixer gun, or as I found out today at my PPG dealer, in squeeze tubes for those of us low volume DIY'ers.. It's excellent stuff. I have nothing but good things to say about SEM.

As others have said, it all depends on the cracks. How many are there? Are they at corners? Around edges or curves?

By the time you repair the cracks, prime and prep for paint, you'll probably be better off finding one in the classified for ~$100. Hold off long enough and you might even find one in the color you need.

I've been looking for a good used one for a year, and I have seen every color except the one I need.

I have a big (very) crack on top right below where the clips are, and less noticeable ones on the corners. It seems like somebody was stupid enough to sit on it or the previous owner hit something, or was hit, whichever it is it doesn't matter to me. I can make a couple of pictures tomorrow to show it here. And I also found I have a small crack in the quarter by the corner of the bumper, I didn't look if the other side is the same.

Thanks for your input. It's really too bad I missed out on a driver side door this sunday at a swap meet The guy wanted 30 bucks and this other guy snatched it before I was checking it out, seemed in good condition. Oh well. :/

Ok I was finally able to take some pictures after a busy couple of days, here they are. The small cracks I know can be fixed, I'm just worried about the big one where the bumper clips are. Maybe it's worth to just get a new one as it will be weaker in the long run? You never know what will happen with those parking aces that live in NJ...

I've got a third gen race car that had several cracks on the front bumper. What worked for me was drilling small holes on each side of the crack or tear. I then filled these in with my bonding agent as well as the crack to give it something to bite on. I then sanded down and painted as normal. After two years these cracks have not returned. I have pictures available if you need. I also have a link to a build thread but its off site.
