Wet sanding polishing advice on new sail panel
Hello all
Today i luckily removed a sail panel from a 1996 camaro for my 2002 ws6 which has a bad case of acne.
Before i install on the ws6 i wanted to clean it up a bit- my question is would it be safe to us my porter cable da on the panel whilst its off the car, could it crack the paint if not support right? The sail panel i removed is black and im guessing it has to be same color black as my ws6? Or did they change between cars?
Any tips on if i have to wet sand any bad spots? Would the da remove the sand marks?

A da is going to put finer scratches in it which will be easier to buff but it will be easier to cut through. Run it slow and I'd still advise wet sanding with it. Check your progress often its hard to say how much clear is left on the panel.
