Last week I googled 1996 SS Camaro intake photos and it brought up a listing about 1996-1997 SS information. It stated that their is two stamps underneath the hood. Someone I know has a 1996 SS. I will go by his house this week and check under the hood to look for these two stamps. With that hood in such bad shape, it's hard to believe it's a genuine hood. I don't think a real SS hood would be neglected.

I see where the strut brackets mount that there are two holes one on each side for the tabs to go into. I have two aftermarket hoods and both do not have the small holes. I had to make my own for the lt1 hood install. Could be oem that you have.
